Concert Corps

BCB has participated in Mardi Gras most of the past 30 years. While we made the trek to New Orleans for a few years, we prefer to support the local Krewes on Galveston Island.

We rent a large house for everyone and have a fun weekend bonding over music each year.

Over the decades, we have marched literally hundreds of miles in Mardi Gras parades. However, riding on a trailer is not only significantly easier, it also allows us to use electronics to greatly enhance our performances. So, if you want to spend a weekend ridin’ around and makin’ fun music with your buddies, don’t miss the annual Mardi Gras event.

We hosted an “all-star” event for Mardi Gras for many years. Corps members from all over the country came down to play with us. We have plans to bring this back in coming years

BCB performs locally year-round at festivals, fundraisers, and the Galveston Mardi Gras parades.

We play a wide variety of music depending on the occasion. From drum corps classics to rock to jazz standards to Christmas carols, we do it all.

The Concert Corps is primarily comprised of members from the Competition Corps, but there are several people that can’t commit to the rigors of competition and only perform in concerts.

BCB has only played on G Bugles since 1991. The Competition Corps will likely switch to modern Bb/F brass in the near future, but the Concert Corps will continue to use G Bugles for as long as possible.
